General Information
BUILDING PERMITS are required for new construction, additions, alterations, decks, pools/hot tubs, tool sheds, garages, fireplaces, wood stoves, HVAC, gas installations, generators, oil tanks, signs,etc.
CERTIFICATES OF OCCUPANCY are required upon completion for all structures with the exception of detached tool sheds and structures constructed prior to 1955.
CERTIFICATES OF COMPLIANCE are required for wood stoves, fireplaces, generators, HVAC, and oil tanks.
The Zoning Board of Appeals considers appeals and requests for variances in regard to the decisions of the Building Inspector concerning the Zoning Ordinance.
The Planning Board reviews all site plans, regrading plans and subdivisions. Site plan approval is required for all uses of land with the exception of detached one family dwellings and detached two family dwellings and their permitted accessory uses, except as otherwise provided by the zoning ordinance.
All inspections are conducted from Mon - Fri., 9:30am -1:00 pm. Please give 2 to 3 days advanced notice for all inspections.
